Manila Manor Hotel

Friday, May 29, 2015
Manila Manor Hotel is like an old home, a bit spruced up, but inevitably rundown. Location is perfect, merely several steps from Robinsons Malate Mall. The hotel obviously services a lot of patrons. It's affordable and well positioned. Ditch your luxury expectations and you will come to love this quaint hotel.
The tall building has an elevator service. Looking more like an office building, it flashes no sign of hotel-esque facade, except for the name and large banners with hotel promo prices outside. Few parking slots available in front of the entrance.
The lobby has a 70's tropical feel, in one perspective. It feels entirely different when you pan to the left. Hotel concierge was friendly and informative.
Hotel elevators, one was under construction. Red sofa at the center of the lobby. Seems partially clean.
Superior Double Room: Php1680 + with set breakfast (Agoda)
The roomy was actually pretty big, and with complete amenities. Glasses for guests.
Lampshades and side round table
Weird pink-ish toilet. Sadly there was not hot water (heater was busted).
Complimentary shampoos, soaps, toothpaste sachets.

Mediterranean Fish Filet: Php300
Garlic Rice: Php85

Remarks:
  • Their restaurant was quite pricey. Serving size would be short for sharing. But taste-wise, everything was good.
  • When we had trouble with the hot water, the mechanic/electrician tried to sort it (for a long time). He kept coming in and out of the room, while profusely apologizing. But the front desk told us that she already gave us the good room, with water supply. Some rooms hardly have water coming out of the shower. Too bad the water heater won't work.
  • If you're desperate and it's only overnight, I would recommend Manila Manor Hotel. Or try other hotels with similar price range nearby, like Grand Prix Manila, Hostel 1632, Mabini Mansion, Eurotel Hotel, or Tune Hotels Ermita.
